Marilyn Manson Show at Glens Falls Civic Center 10-23-12

Twins of Evil Concert Tour Review

On Oct. 23rd, 2012 the Twins of Evil concert tour came to the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY, featuring DJ Starscream of Slipknot opening the show with his electro industrial metal remixes, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie co-headlining. The doors opened at 6:20 pm (late) and the show was supposed to start at 7 pm but began about 7:30 pm with the loudest BASS I've ever heard, shaking the entire arena like an earthquake for the duration of the concert. I had heard there were problems with Manson's vocals being drowned out by the band, but it was the bass that truly overpowered everything, though the band was indeed louder than Manson's mic, which made me wonder, if this was a known issue, why hadn't the sound people corrected this by now? I was also expecting Manson's voice to be "screamy" as it usually is in his live concerts, so i was pleasantly surprised that he sounded so good, no strain in his vocal chords despite working to be heard over the rest of the music.

As you can see by the photos, taken with my camcorder, the arena was nearly empty and I felt embarrassed for the city being unable to fill the civic center for such a famous act. Either this wasn't promoted well, or...? However, seats began filling by about 7:30 and by the time Manson was on stage, the floor was packed to nearly the rear, though the seats remained only about half filled. Despite the small crowd, Manson performed as if it were Madison Square Garden and treated the floor crowd intimately throughout the show, posing for photos during the show and stalking every inch of the stage so that no one would leave disappointed they didn't get to see him up close and personal, at least for those diehard fans standing all night on the cement floor. Surprisingly there was NO mosh pit at this event, no fighting, people just seemed to stand transfixed instead.

Camcorders, especially the type with flip-open panels like mine, were not supposed to be allowed, so I was considering hiding mine down my bra to sneak it in but at the last minute decided to keep it in my camera bag and see what happened, worst case scenario at this venue was either taking it out to the car or having them hold it in the office until after the show (according to their rules and FAQ online). As the doors opened, security told the women to line up separately from the men (I wish there had been signs up prior to this since the lines stretched quite a ways, people had been standing for hours in mixed gender lines of course, and to wait until the last minute to switch thousands of people into separate gender lines was a bad move on the part of the staff IMHO, but luckily again I was right up front, so I just moved 4 lines over). Full searches were conducted, pat downs, metal wands, even jewelry was removed from some people, small knives, any conceivable weapons (I was concerned about my fingernail clippers on my keyring), all bags were thoroughly searched, pockets emptied, everything, so it's a good thing I didn't try to sneak my camcorder in as the metal wands would have detected it pronto! My camcorder was allowed through to my great joy, and staff were very helpful in directing people to seating sections and giving out information (such as where the bathrooms were, smoking sections, etc).

My ticket was for assigned seating, section X, row 11, seat 13. I had thought it was for the floor but discovered I was in the balcony, not 11 rows back from the stage as I'd thought when i bought the ticket. However, I was glad to be up out of the crowd for better video but got a jolt when I looked down the rows which seemed nearly vertical, to get to one's seat! I felt dizzy just looking, and was so disoriented from the heights that I sat in row 13 seat 13 by mistake, and had the perfect view of this gorgeous long haired guy seated below me (pic above, also showing the long view down the section I was seated in). Turns out I was luckier than ever, my actual ticket was the seat to his left, which I eventually had to move down to because as the arena filled, the correct ticket holders for the row 13 seat 13 showed up. I do have to say these were the most uncomfortable chairs I'd ever been in, especially for someone tall, there just is no room for the knees sitting straight in one's assigned space, without hitting the people in front of you.

Finally at 7:20 pm DJ Starscream of Slipknot got the show on the road with the most massive bass I've heard, and I'm a bass fanatic who used to do car audio SPL competitions, so when I say MASSIVE BASS, you can bank on it. I'd never seen anything shake an entire building, and the crowd looked as shocked as I felt, though we all loved it, as you can hear in the videos (I'll add the playlist here once they are all uploaded, see below for individual video links until then). The DJ performed electro industrial metal remixes for about 45 minutes, with a 16+ minute remix of Manson's Perfect Drug starting off the concert. Above are 2 photos of the stage right before the lights went down.

After DJ Starscream, tour staff erected this giant black cloth drape to cover the stage, filling the inside with smog, setting up for Manson's debut. When the lights went down again, Manson performed a shadow dance behind the curtain that was supposed to be spooky I guess, but wasn't very impressive. In fact none of the stage show itself was Halloweenish in any way, as had been touted, but the show Manson himself put on made that a very small complaint.

The cloth dropped and screams could be heard for miles I am sure as the arena went wild, Manson strutted his stuff across the entire stage, posing for photos with the floor fans being only a few inches from stage, I couldn't be sure but I believe Manson actually reached out and touched a few or at least he allowed himself to be touched briefly, with only 3 security members in front of the stage, and no mosh pit during any of the show.

The sound of the bass overpowered Manson's vocals the whole time, with brief periods where his voice rang out pure and deep, sweet as a dream, forceful drumming and awesome guitar solos. I tried to zoom in on the different musicians but the smoke machines were located right next to both of the guitarists (one each at stage left and right with Manson full center and the drummer stage center rear), obscuring them for most of the show, though I did capture some close ups despite the challenges, mainly when they were spotlighted.

Only ten songs were sung by Manson during his roughly 42 minute performance, all ten recorded to video, plus 3 by DJ Starscream. However, I was completely deaf by the end and blind (visual migraine, think the sound pressure levels inside the building affected my brain!) in one eye, so I skipped out shortly after Zombie came out to close the concert with his theatrics and robotics, pyrotechnics and in general, a gigantically better stage presence overall. I did not get any video of Zombie's part of this concert, to my dismay. To be honest, I was there for Manson, Zombie was the icing on the cake perhaps.

With the tickets being between $51 for mine including all fees and mailing, to about $75 for the floor, this was one of the cheapest bargains of modern concert ticket pricing, and worth double easily. T-shirts and merchandise was moderately priced, mine costing $40 for a simple, short sleeved, black Twins of Evil concert tour shirt with the concert venues printed on the back and raised puffy bright colored lettering.

Frank Palangi Solo Acoustic Live at P-House 10-5-2012

Performing live at Panther Mountain Inn, Chestertown NY in a solo acoustic show, to a packed house. Frank Palangi invited audience participation & chorus sing-alongs that were out of the ordinary for the P-House and wicked fun to be part of. Playing modern rock music covers and a few of his own originals, I'd say he was a hit. However, to really get a taste of his true talent, check out all of his ORIGINAL reverbnation music with a full band backing at http://www.reverbnation.com/frankpalangi

Sounding much like Alice in Chains, Godsmack, Pearl Jam and with his deep crooning vocals very much like Eddie Vedder on many of his songs, the difference between his live acoustic and original full band electric guitar music is striking. I've been listening to his 1st CD for 2 days non-stop, addicting riffs and rhythm, his voice and songwriting skills are unforgettable. Frank Palangi has two CDs out and is already hard at work on a third of which he already has a number quickly reaching hit single status, titled I am Ready. Check out all his music online embedded below:

Washington County Line Bluegrass LIVE Show 9-22-12

Washington County Line Bluegrass Band performed live at Carol Theater in Chestertown, NY on Sept. 22, 2012. Incredible skills mark this as one of the top bluegrass bands performing today. Since the 6-30-12 show I filmed had all of the same songs except for 4 new ones in this show, I decided to do this as one video of the entire set. See below why it had to be broken up into 4 parts. New to this performance is member Andy Bing playing a beautiful dulcimer during the newer songs, and on some of the old standards. This video also includes the band's introductions and comic banter between songs for the full first set, giving viewers the feel of being there in a front row seat. I highly recommend seeing these guys live the first chance you get, for a foot stomping, head nodding experience you won't soon forget.

For band info & contact, visit their web site at:
http://www.washingtoncountyline.com/

Filmed, edited & uploaded by Gina Jordan, AKA ginazoneny & gmj2012. All rights reserved 9-22-12.

Due to youtube limits I have uploaded the full 1st set in 4 parts. Instead of doing separate videos for this show, I filmed the entire set as one video. Unfortunately my 1st upload took 22 hours and was removed by youtube for being too long, so I had to re-edit this into 4 parts and start the upload over again today.

Cadillac Moon - Show Me Your Tattoo Music Video (Fan Created) 720p HD

Latest video I did for the song Show Me Your Tattoo by Cadillac Moon. Some parts of this can be considered NSFW 18+, view at your own discretion as it features showing off tattoos on various body parts. A bluesy rock classic from their 90's album In the Kitchen. Enjoy!

Cadillac Moon - Long Island Iced Tea Music Video (Fan Created) 720p HD

I created this video today for my favorite song by Cadillac Moon, using common license materials. I'm still putting together an original content video for this song, have just hired several dancers from fiverr.com but I wanted to have one up meanwhile. I'm also still seeking people for the tattoo dancer video I'll be making next. Let me know if you or a friend might be interested in featuring in my next music video. Enjoy :)
Gina

My favorite song by Cadillac Moon, followed by Keep Me in Mind and Show Me Your Tattoo, in fact this entire LP is phenomenal. I've been a long time fan of Cadillac Moon since the late 90's when I used to travel the East Coast filming their live gigs. Since most of that footage is on a hard drive I need to get restored, there are no videos for Cadillacl Moon's music. Recently the band got back together for a reunion tour and filmed an hour long concert at the LI Blues Warehouse in Long Island, NY where these guys hail from. You can view that video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqdyLF1a48Q

Cadillac Moon played the bar band scene in the famous movie Devil's Advocate while Charlize Theron was dancing in the scene. Rich Campbell, the keyboard player, got bit by the Hollywood bug & had been involved with acting ever since.

Biography
CADILLAC MOON put out two CD's in the 1990's with Al Santoriello singing lead vocals: "PLUG ME IN" and "IN THE KITCHEN." The band got off the ground by getting top honors at the LONG ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL. The band went on to appear at SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST in AUSTIN, TEXAS, as well as at the Philadelphia Music Conference & the NEMO conference in Boston. Appearing in the film "DEVIL'S ADVOCATE" brought the group wider recognition.
CADILLAC MOON brought their exciting , original brand of funky blues-rock to both their songwriting and live performances. Their style was first and foremost about laying down solid, fun grooves. Their songs include bits and pieces of New York funk, New Orleans honky-tonk, and straight-ahead, ass-kicking guitar. The energy they generated during live performances always had crowds excited and groovin'.

*CASTING CALL! Dancers & Actors Needed for Music Videos*

I'm attempting to create or acquire original content for several music video projects, and need people for the following gigs. Ideally a person will create their own videos doing these scenes, or have someone video them, or use a tripod, etc. I doubt many would come to my area for me to film them, but I'd do that too. These are for exposure mainly, will include your credits, websites, channels (youtube/vimeo/etc), whatever you like, and if you put up the gig on fiverr.com will pay you $5 for each of your submission for these projects that I hire you to do. That's how fiverr works :) I'm not a big movie director, this is not going to earn me money, this is for music videos for bands that will be on youtube and promoted out all over. if interested in any or all of these gigs, please let me know and do share this anywhere there might be people interested in doing this. You can also email me at ginazoneny@gmail.com

*Gigs I Need Done*--each can be separate people/gigs or combined by one person:

* Female-Slow sexy dancing, hands behind head for part of it, stroke down body, looking at camcorder entire time with very confident sexy look on face, dark or low light background, ideally in a bar or club, or at least uncluttered background, for 30 seconds or full 4 minute bluesy rock song. For bluesy slow rock song Long Island Iced Tea.

* Female-Bartender mixing a Long Island Iced Tea, doing a slow sexy wiggle while smiling and having fun with it, about 30 seconds or however long it takes to make the drink, ideally an ice cold sweating beaded glass for the drink with close up on the glass, beads of dripping liquid for a few seconds of it. For bluesy slow rock song Long Island Iced Tea.

* Females and Males-Slow sexy dancing while smiling and showing off your tattoos, for a bluesy rock song called Show me Your tattoo. ideally low light or dark bar or club, at very least uncluttered background with low light but still able to see you clearly. Lick lips, caress body, look at camcorder as much as you can, look confident and knowing you are VERY sexy, TEASE is very important also.

* Couples, any genders/races-I need several different gigs along these lines: holding hands, kissing, slow dancing, arguing and making up, soulful looking at one another, romance themes, love, breaking up, getting back together, rejection and attraction, picking someone up in a bar, going on dates, taking walks on the beach, this kind of thing in one minute or longer scenes. For other video projects, music videos mainly.

* Men or women, any ages/races/etc-Dancing of any style from rap to tribal fusion, shuffle to square dancing, couples or individuals or groups. Full songs preferred, about 4 minutes or so, but can be compiled from different shoots/locations you choose, into one video of same length. This would be your chance to have your talent exposed all over the internet and perhaps be seen by people looking to hire dancers for big money projects, with your contact info provided, etc. Music will be replaced, so use whatever music you like :)

(ALL body types & races, the attitude is what's important; sexy clothing of any kind, does NOT have to be swimsuit style or skin exposure, just nothing ridiculous or that will get censored--jeans and t-shirt is fine as long as you look confident and sexy doing the video :)

Please pass this on to whomever might be interested and thanks :)

Flipside & Wayne Stock 5 Music Festival 8-4-12

The annual free outdoor music festival Wayne Stock 5 was held Aug. 4, 2012, and while I was set to film the entire event, I ended up getting heat stroke within 45 minutes in the 90+ degree heat with equal humidity, so ended up only getting nearly the full set of the band Flipside. I filmed a total of 5 videos including 4 song videos and one 15 minute long tripod mount with 3 long songs. I was not the only one to succumb to the heat, am not sure how the many many volunteers, bands and staff lasted through the full event, and I'm very disappointed with myself for having missed the later bands, especially Cosmic Jackson who had originally gotten me involved with the WS festival filming.

The event was a great success, with a Harley Davidson motorcycle raffle and many gorgeous guitars and other donated goods auctioned off, face painting and food vendors, all to benefit the North Country Hardship Fund, plus a snow making machine blowing icy mist up on the hill to cool everyone off (though in that heat after a total drenching I was dry within seconds!), so many people working very hard to make sure a good time was had by all.

The rain and storms forecasted turned out to be hot air, literally, though all were prepared for the worst, and cloud cover did come in about 6pm, nothing came of it, to the dismay of those hoping for a soaking to cool off.

I want to thank Chris Schemp of Cosmic Jackson for inviting me, and apologize for not being there to film their closing performance of this event. I arrived a bit before 3pm and was gone by 4:30pm, though I fought the heat stroke for 45 minutes, I eventually was forced to leave to save my life, and it took more than 12 hours to cool my hyperthermia back within normal temps, to stop getting sick and shivering. I'm sure I'm not the only one treating a serious sunburn today either, dumb of me not to have brought sunblock. I was more worried about bug spray, and ironically was never bothered by our famous black flies.

I also want to thank my ex-husband Stephen Cipolla who volunteered as my gofer, for I would have never been able to drive myself home and was grateful he'd driven us to the show. We cooled off a bit at Panther Mountain Inn on the way home, where I bought us both dinner to go for later (I was way too ill to eat then, or to cook later), and then I was down for the count.

I had planned to attempt live streaming of the event via youtube and a google hangout, but one thing I completely forgot, there was no internet other than a very limited wifi that did not reach the stage area where I needed to be to capture it via webcam on my laptop. So that was a brain fart, not sure how to meet that challenge next year, which I hope to attend and that nature will have mercy on us heat-wise (as this was an unusual weather situation for our area). To all those who made it through the event, and who donated time, goods, labor and more, I offer a million kudos and thanks.

Waynestock 5 8/4/12 North Creek NY

Below is an ad from last year on Wayne Stock, an annual FREE event in North Creek, NY held on Aug. 4, 2012 this year, with at least 7 bands, food, face painting and auctions for the benefit of the North Country Hardship Fund. it's BYOB with only non-alcoholic drinks being sold. Looks like I'll need to bring a cooler, blanket and chair along with all my cameras, camcorders and equipment. if anyone is willing to come as a helper & hold a camcorder or camera, or keep an eye on my things while I am filming, I'd really appreciate it. I can't wait! :) That reminds me I'll need to buy some good bug stuff for this one, those bugs love my blood something fierce. Hope to see you there! Some of the featured bands are: Cosmic Jackson, Willie Playmore, Decadence, Flipside and many more. Hope to see you there!

Fallen Within - Your Song Music Videos

I made 3 music videos for this same song by Fallen Within band at http://reverbnation.com/fallenwithin

I had more materials than I could use in one video and wanted to use them all, so let me know which one of the 3 YOU like best, for me #3 is definitely it, but #1 is a close second.

I created this video as a fan of the band Fallen Within, after noting their own videos were static image only, with their permission. For artist info and to buy their album, please visit their website at http://www.reverbnation.com/fallenwithin
and The Fallen Within Band At http://www.FallenWithinband.com

Lyrics to Your Song by Fallen Within. Written by Derrick Brandon:

Dont regret this life for me,
its only what you make it,
dont blame it all on me,
only wanted you to be mine,
the things you said when you lied,
the things you said that night,
that look in your eyes,
stood up for the last time .

(Hate me when im here,Miss me when im gone
this is your song, this is your song) 2x - repeat.

I was holding my breath down ,
trying not to be scared inside,
everytime id impress you, youd push me aside,
but im only human and its only feelings,
but i got a million,
or atleast you think its that way,
the truth is i cared more anyway,

(Hate me when im here,Miss me when I'm gone this is your song, this is your song)

Id give up everything
just hear your voice and make you feel alive one last time
Nothing i can say or do
to make you feel the way i do inside this will last for a lifetime

(Hate me when im here,Miss me when I'm gone this is your song)

Hate me when im here,Miss me when im gone
this is your song, this is your song x2-repeat.

S.L. Smith & Metamorphose Jones Band 7-13-12

I always enjoy seeing Steven L. Smith & Metamorphose Jones Band play whenever I get the chance, and July 13, 2012 was no exception. Their line up has changed since the last time I filmed them at P-House, their old bass player is back & they were sounding better and LOUDER than ever. Luckily my camcorder does excellent audio, so no distortion, sometimes I wish it would show just how LOUD the music was. My ears were numb for a couple hours after & I only stayed for the 1st set, but that's what happens when one stands in front of professional PA's, 4 of them no less in this band, filming live music. No other band numbs my ears like these guys do, except maybe the Willie Playmore Band.

I love the fancy swirling lights these guys use, makes my videos look fancier than usual. I enjoyed my favorite meal of Buffalo Chicken tenders with hand cut skin-on fries, and a couple ice cold Smirnoff Ice's (though Keith assures me they will be getting in my favorite raspberry flavored SI again soon, the plain tastes too much like the yucky Fresca of old), all for under $20 including a generous tip. The bands play every Friday night, free cover, from 8pm-12am or sometimes 9pm-1am. If you are looking for a fun night out in a gorgeous mountain region setting, fantastic food at great prices and cold drinks to cool off the summer heat, the Panther Mountain Inn is your destination place. Right in the heart of Chestertown across from the Carol Theater on Riverside Drive, is the bar parking lot.

Here's the 11 video playlist below of 11 total, 8 videos from last night's show at P-House, 8pm-1am, plus 3 from the festival at the end of it. I missed out on the last song of the 1st set which was an incredible blues jam piece I regret with chagrin having put my camcorder away too soon. That song still haunts me, wishing I had filmed it as it was one I would have watched again and again and again...I learned to never put my camcorder away when they are still holding their instruments, lol.

Enjoy the show,

Gina

PS: Check out the band for more info on their FB page at http://www.facebook.com/TheStevenLSmithBand

The full playlist of all 11 videos including the 3 from the 7-7-12 Festival, starts below with Friday's P-House show first. Just press play to begin.

Frankie Moran - One American Life Music Video 720p HD

Besides live music, I also make MTV-like music videos for bands and artists. Below is one I finished for a project today on a powerful C&W song that will most likely make you tear up a bit. Now C&W is not my fave genre of music, along with jazz and classical, there are rare exceptions and this is definitely one of them. An amazing artist, and songwriter. I feel honored to have been invited to create this video for Frankie Moran's beautiful song. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Fireworks in Chestertown NY 7-7-2012 720p HD

Filmed these on 7-7-2012, from the festival in Chestertown, NY. Entire show was 17+ minutes and with youtube limits I had to break it into 2 videos about 8 minutes each. Both are in 720p HD. Enjoy :)

Chestertown, NY Festival & S. L. Smith Band

S. L. Smith & Metamorphose Jones Band 7-7-2012

Filmed 5 videos at last night's festival, 2 of the band, this panoramic view with the band in the background & 2 fireworks videos (had to split the 17 minute video into 2 because of youtube limits, those 2 are still uploading-nearly 2 GB for that alone!).

I was surprised there were so few people at this free music & fun event, but later the field was jam packed with well over 1000 people for the fireworks display. The weather was perfect, the clouds that had threatened earlier were gone by sunset, for a clear canvas for the colorful show. Other than the bugs eating me up, it couldn't have been a better evening.

Chords of Truth - Power To Be Alive

Besides filming live bands I also make music videos for artists, and this is one of the jobs I finished today and am most proud of. Incredibly beautiful & powerful acoustic song I guarantee you will love as much as I do. You Beloved Another Man by Washington Co. Line Bluegrass 6-30-12 720p HD

I filmed a live bluegrass band tonight, only uploaded one video so tomorrow for the rest. Here's the 1st one from the show. Very happy with how the video came out for these. :)

The Cars - Just What I Needed cover by Rockology LIVE 6-29-12 720p HD

Last & 5th from last night's show.

Free - All Right Now cover by Rockology LIVE 6-29-12 720p HD

3rd of 5 videos from the show last night at Panther Mountain Inn. I was so thrilled to see a female drummer, too bad she was too nervous being filmed for me to do the full show, not to mention the lack of lighting. Bummer, because they have no content online at all and it would have been nice to have more of their stuff to share. About the 3rd song in they turned the lighting down so much I gave up. The poor lead guitar guy on the left was in no man's land the entire show, no light at all in his corner, as you can see.

More cowbell anyone? LOL

Tom Petty - Breakdown cover by Rockology LIVE 6-29-12 720p HD

This was the last song I filmed of the 5 (it is 2nd of 5 posting today--will post playlist later of all 5), and the darkest worst of the 5 video quality wise, though the audio is perfect in all of them of course or I wouldn't bother posting them.

One of my favorite songs of all time, his voice is the closest to Petty's of any cover band I've heard, he sounds so close to the real thing, what do you think?

Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See cover by Rockology LIVE 6-29-12

1st of 5 videos from last night's live show. The drummer was nervous being filmed and the lighting became so bad that I called it quits early. No sense filming dark video or someone who doesn't want to be filmed, but the few videos I did get are of some great songs most of the other bands I've filmed have NOT done, which is refreshing. :D

Full story and playlist coming as soon as these 5 are done.

I filmed this show 6-22-12 locally. Mostly folk rock, a blues & country music covers with 3 original songs from their Love Loud CD (released 6-29-12). A dynamic duo with some sweet harmonies, their talents blend perfectly together, on 2 acoustic guitars with 2 amazing voices and a surprising vocal range. Enjoy!
