I wasn't going to film on Friday night, in fact, wasn't even going to go see the show. BUT a couple friends begged me to go, and I rarely leave without a camcorder because I don't want to miss something rare. So Friday June 7, 2013, The Sons of Octomom band played at Panther Mountain Inn here in Chestertown, NY from about 8p-12:20a, and man am I glad I went! The lighting was great for these videos, twelve in all, not counting the funny t-shirt video.
Sons of Octomom band consists of Eric Peter on lead vocals and acoustic lead guitar, his 19 year old son Tyler Peter on drums (no nepotism here, he is just one of the most phenomenal drummers I've ever seen), and Jeff Belding on bass guitar. Eric Peter, leader of Sons of Octomom and numerous other bands.
On this rare evening, Michelle "Bass Diva" Howland performed 2 songs with the band, Some Kind of Wonderful as lead singer and bass guitarist while Jeff took a break, and another, Proud Mary, as backup vocals, and she nailed it! The crowd went wild for her as usual, not that Jeff isn't a favorite bass player as well, his energy cranks up the crowd, not to mention his talent on those strings.
Here's one of my favorite songs of the night, by a band I hadn't heard of before and now need to explore much more of, Camel Walk by Southern Culture on the Skids.
Since this past week was the annual event in Lake George, NY for Americade, there were plenty of bikers enjoying the show and a break from the rain, the parking lot packed with gorgeous motorcycles, which I was forced to take a couple photos of this wicked ape-hanger custom that glittered like diamonds even though it was pitch black dark out.
Too bad the Sanyo GH4 camcorder isn't ideal for photography, but the pics below should still give you an idea of the awesomeness of the bike.
There were a group from Westchester County, NY I had a drink with before leaving, and this cool older dude had the best t-shirt of them all in the bar that night. While trying to take a pic of the shirt, I pressed the video button and ended up with a short video of the shirt too (See the playlist for that video along with the other 12 of the band, at bottom of this page).
OLD GUYS RULE, yes, they do! ;-)
And finally, the playlist of videos from the show, starting with Tyler Peter on drums doing a Buddy Holly cover, Not Fade Away:
8 new videos in the playlist below that I filmed at Ashes Pub in Warrensburg, NY on Friday 5-31-13, of Steven L. Smith Band & Metamorphose Jones. The video below links to the playlist at: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD9CA09B04E5CF4E7
One of my favorites of the show, Faces - Ooh La La cover 9 minute jam:
Get a peek of me at 0:04 and 3:34 or so, since our designated driver Chris filmed this one while I took a break:
On May 31, 2013 Steven L Smith Band & Metamorphose Jones performed at Ashes Pub http://www.ashespubandgrill.com/ in Warrensburg, NY. I was lucky enough to be there to film 7 videos that night, having not seen them in nearly a year. The place was packed wall to wall and the dance floor full all night long.

Playlist of videos from last Friday 5-24-13 at Panther Mountain Inn:
Songs Filmed Include (in order):
Bob Marley-Get Up, Stand Up
Janis Joplin-Me & Bobby McGee
Sublime-What I Got
Lynyrd Skynyrd-Sweet Home Alabama (snippet of 1:22)
Johnny Cash-Folsom Prison Blues

Unfortunately my new Canon camcorder is malfunctioning, LCD screen issues, so I used my older Sanyo, but without good lighting in the venue or band provided lights, the videos always come out darker than I like and degrade the HD quality. I've added effects to some that give a psychedelic look instead.
Playlist for the videos from last night's solo acoustic electric guitar show at Panther Mountain Inn. Only 4 of the ten are fully uploaded so far, the rest are slowly becoming available as the day goes on. A round of applause for Dennis Dross, he covered some really great tunes last night. :) http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEiEKUoq9f6VFAfSVuUrHsidINCPayIWC

My photos of the trophy winners and video compilation of the classic car cruise from the 1st car hop of this season, with their throbbing motors revving, burnouts (blue Chevelle especially), and the classic car cruise through town heading out and coming back in, get your muscle car thrills by checking this out. :-)
During the warmer months, Panther Mountain Inn on Route 9 in Chestertown, NY (exit 25 off I-87) hosts a monthly classic car hop where all are welcome to attend this free event and vote on their top 3 winners. The results are tallied and the 3 winners presented with trophies right before they do a cruise of all the vehicles from the show, through town. Generally the event starts at 6p, the final votes are in by 7p, trophies are awarded about 7:15 and the cruise takes place shortly after 7:30p. All cars all welcome to compete, paying a small fee to enter a vehicle into the show. Last year we even had a few late model cars. This was the 1st car show of the season, and had only about ten cars entered, so odds are great to win in these shows. If you have a beauty of a vehicle to show off, why not come to the next one? Three trophies were awarded in the following order: 1st place-Red Ford Falcon (1965/67 I believe) owned by Marty
2nd place-Silver SS Chevelle owned by Palmer
3rd place-Maroon Malibu owned by the Brennans (this was their 1st time ever entering their car in a show, anywhere, and I think they were a bit shell shocked to win :)
I also photographed the vehicles (from every angle, each one) and will post a link to the album once it is uploaded. Filmed, edited and uploaded by Gina Jordan, All Rights Reserved.
A couple patrons at Panther Mountain Inn, Chestertown NY, last night, 5-3-13, dancing around the poles. It's so rare to see a GUY dancing around the pole, had to capture this moment. Fun times at the local bar, sexy and hilarious too.
Master Cylinders performed live on 4-12-13 at Panther Mountain Inn, Chestertown, NY from 9p to 1a to a packed house and a full dance floor all night long. Playing long sets of 2.5 hours, break, then finishing the last 90 minutes, this is one hard working and continuous rocking band the likes of which I've yet to see on the local circuit until now.
My Fave of the night, Led Zeppelin:
Jimmy Wilcox is the former drummer from Blue Oyster Cult and pounded the drums expertly.
All the band members are at the top of their game, tight and extremely talented. Playing all cover songs with a wide variety of decades top hits, with no original songs as of yet, their music keeps the dance floor hot all night (as my videos will show).
Band members are:
Jimmy Wilcox - Drums & Vocals, original member & MAIN CONTACT
Pat Cifone -Guitar,vocals, original member and very huggable
Hayden Sias - Slapping de bass, vocals, and an original member
Matt Donnelly- Keyboards & vocals
The lead guitar player, Pat Cifone, is magnificent both in guitar and vocals, he does a mean spot on Johnny Cash (which I didn't film). I truly enjoyed the bass thumping guitar solos of Hayden Sias, and his energy and playfulness throughout the night. Tickling the keys like a pro, Matt Donnelly definitely adds pizzazz with a range of sounds & effects, as well as keeping the crowd of dancers pumped up. I can't recommend this band highly enough, so if you ever get a chance to see them, don't pass it by.
